This month, LJJ partnered with our client GMI to host a DIY Workshop at Hartlepool College. The programme offers hands-on construction training to care leavers and individuals facing barriers to employment. These workshops teach essential DIY skills to those preparing to leave care or who have recently begun living independently.

We are proud to support initiatives that benefit our community. Retail Operations Manager Paul Cuthbert and Contracts Manager Carl Holland led the workshop.

LJJ delivered practical sessions in electrical and plumbing, focusing on activities such as:

Plumbing: How to turn water off; How to fix a leaking tap; How to unblock a sink; Change a toilet seat

Electrical: How to isolate electrics; How to change a fuse; How to wire a plug; How to test for a live wire

All participants gained valuable life skills, and several expressed interest in trade careers.
